$BlogItemUrl$> |
You can attain a membership at men's or womens fitness centers only. It's understandable to want to avoid the opposite sex while working out. We all know that hard bodies can be a tad distracting. Not to mention you may feel embarrassed if the opposite gender sees you all sweaty and yucky. Okay, well the females might feel embarrassed. Most of us guys don't really care.
Take your pick from countless gyms across this great nation. You no longer have a valid excuse for not getting in shape. If you're not physically capable, then you're just plain lazy. That's the real deal. Now I do realize that some people may prefer more exclusive type health and fitness clubs, and this is totally plausible these days. You can attain a membership at men's or womens fitness centers only. It's understandable to want to avoid the opposite sex while working out. We all know that hard bodies can be a tad distracting. I was chatting with my wife the other day about exercise. She has been attending the YMCA for about a year now. She loves the fact that ours is the largest one in the country. On the other hand, she would like to exercise where men were not around. You know, womens fitness centers. She claims that having the opposite sex there too can be bothersome. Aside from the fact that folks are supposedly there to work out, many go to socially connect. In short, they treat the place like a pick-up joint. I know what you're thinking. This is lame with a capital L. Then again it's no different from the Gold's Gym I used to attend. People would treat this place like a matchmaking joint as well. As I'm sure you can imagine, this gets distracting and irksome. How is anyone supposed to get a decent workout in? Hey, this is why God created womens fitness centers and men's fitness centers. This allows each gender to enjoy their own workout environment, minus he stresses of flirting and chatting.
It's certainly not a challenge to pinpoint womens fitness centers these days. Take full advantage of your Internet service and you'll spot one in no time. Take a gander at what all your area has to offer. Find those exclusive womens fitness centers that can work well for you. Hey, isn't it time you got in shape the right way? Let me tell you, there's no time like the present. |

$BlogItemUrl$>Vitamin C in Skin Care
$BlogItemUrl$> |
Vitamin C is also a necessary part of the body's production of collagen which is the fiber that makes tissues strong and elastic.
The integumentary system is the body's largest organ. It can also be a woman's biggest nightmare. The epidermis and its care is one of the most ubiquitous concerns of women as they age. Vitamin C is used in skin care to help prevent premature aging and damage from the suns rays. The antioxidant properties of Vitamin C allows it to bond with and remove damaging radicals in the skin from pollution, cigarette smoke and other sources. Vitamin C is also a necessary part of the body's production of collagen which is the fiber that makes tissues strong and elastic. Thus the use of Vitamin C in a daily skin care program is thought to help make your skin look full and firm.
Taking care of your skin should also be one of the biggest concerns of men since their incidence of melanoma is far greater than that of women and they are starting to spend more and more time in the tanning salons. Although men have the greatest statistical incidence of melanoma some dermatologists fear that the popularity of sun tanning beds in the female population may be bringing with it an increased development of melanoma in women. With the passage of time there may be an alarming tendency of young women to develop the sometimes fatal disease. One thing is certain though, UV rays whether from tanning beds or sun exposure is damaging in excessive amounts. Furthermore, when the sun is involved sun screen really is mandatory for prevention of its damaging effects both medical and cosmetic.
But even with the best preventative measures time does take its toll. Solar radiation, pollution and exposure to various toxins damage the cells prematurely aging the skin and the natural aging process leads to a reduced production of collagen. For some corrective measures may be required. Many approaches and strategies are used in the time reversal strategy known as skin care. Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) are a popular ingredient in many over the counter skin care products. The theory being that the acids peel away the outermost layer of skin exposing the new softer tissues underneath and the skin appears to renew and rejuvenate.
Vitamins can be absorbed through the skin in creams and lotions, particularly Vitamins A and D. Vitamin C can be absorbed by the skin but the best form is one called L-ascorbic acid. This is a product that breaks down very easily especially in sunlight giving it a short shelf life. It is important to buy small amounts in dark colored or brown bottles and keep it in a dark storage place. This works by being absorbed into the epidermis and promoting the production of collagen. It also works as an antioxidant by neutralizing free radicals in the body. Because of its absorption this form of Vitamin C will not wash away but remain in the skin. |

$BlogItemUrl$>The Mind's Power To Make You Sick
$BlogItemUrl$> |
From the desk of Laurence Magne, author of the Science of Being Well Home Study Course.
“There is a growing tendency upon the part of the best informed physicians and other health practitioners, to accept the theory that all diseases begin when the brain of the individual is in a depleted or devitalized state. Stated in another way, it is a known fact that a person who has a perfectly vitalized brain is practically, if not entirely, immune from all manner of disease.
Every intelligent health practitioner, of whatever school or type, knows that “Nature” or the mind cures disease in every instance where a cure is effected. Medicines, faith, laying on of hands, chiropractic, osteopathy and all other forms of outside stimulant are nothing more than artificial aids to NATURE, or, to state it correctly, mere methods to the end that it readjusts the cells and tissues of the body, revitalizes the brain and otherwise causes the human machine to function normally.”
This was written by none other than Napoleon Hill in 1928. Yes, you read correctly, in 1928!!!
Back in those days, advanced minds such as Napoleon Hill’s were already aware of the power of the mind over the body. Negative thoughts, when they happen outside of our awareness, and are not externalized, tend to fester in the body. Negative emotions have been proven to release negative neuropeptides that affect the ability of the immune system to carry its work of defending the body against viruses, bacteria and the development of tumors. A harmonized mind is a mind that thinks positive thoughts, that has learned to externalize all powerful emotions so that the person can accept his feelings, deal with them and move on. A harmonized mind also leads a person to surround himself with positive energies, with people who are happy, who are positive.
This could be why laughter keeps being confirmed as one of the most effective methods to heal disease, and even cancer. Laugher is known to release in the brain the same chemicals released by morphine as a natural opiate that helps stop pain.
This is how far our thoughts can influence our body and our state of health that laughter can curb cancer and stop its development, and that negative emotions such as anger, fear, anxiety, worry, distress, emotional pain and trauma, and any form of continued stress are known agents in the development and growth of cancer.
So what’s the solution? In the Science of Being Well Home Study Course, you will find many exercises and activities to bring yourself back to health, and techniques to retrain your thinking. www.thescienceofbeingwell.biz Emotions are neither good or bad. They are the stuff of life. They are what we’re made of. Emotions only become bad when they are not externalized. The body then maintains the imprint of the negative emotion, and with enough reinforcement due to the repetition of the stress or the stimulus of the negative situation, and the person quickly becomes sick.
Once we understand what makes us sick, and the part that we may play in our own illnesses, we then have tools and techniques at our disposal to return to health. Visit www.thescienceofbeingwell.biz today to learn more on how you too can reclaim your health with simple techniques that you can apply immediately. |

$BlogItemUrl$>Are You What You Eat? A Conclusive Principle
$BlogItemUrl$> |
From the desk of Dr Magne, author of the Science Of Being Well Home Study Course
We have been brought up to believe that we should have three meals a day. “Oh, you cannot skip breakfast, that’s bad for you!” Anyone will tell you that. Then we end up in the situation where we eat out of habit, but certainly not out of hunger. It’s 1pm, it is time to have lunch, so I must be hungry. My father claims he never gets hungry. Fine! Let’s wait another hour or two, and see if his hunger resumes….
In the Science of Being Well, Wallace Wattles discusses the principles of eating and when is the right time to eat. The problem we are faced with is that because of our habits of eating at specific times, we end up eating without hunger. We may have an appetite for tempting foods, like a pizza, a hamburger, a pack of chips or French fries. But were we really hungry to start with?
Wallace Wattles writes: “Whenever food is needed and can be used, there is hunger, and whenever there is hunger it is time to eat When there is no hunger it is unnatural and wrong to eat, no matter how great may APPEAR to be the need for food. — it is a self-evident proposition that the natural time (and the healthy time) to eat is when one is hungry, and that it is never a natural or a healthy action to eat when one is not hungry. You see, then, that it is an easy matter to scientifically settle the question when to eat. ALWAYS eat when you are hungry, and NEVER eat when you are not hungry. This is obedience to nature, which is obedience to God.
We must not fail, however, to make clear the distinction between hunger and appetite.
Hunger is the call of the subconscious mind for more material to be used in repairing and renewing the body, and in keeping up the internal heat. Hunger is never felt unless there is need for more material, and unless there is power to digest it when taken into the stomach.
Appetite is a desire for the gratification of sensation. The drunkard has an appetite for liquor, but he cannot have a hunger for it. A normally fed person cannot have a hunger for candy or sweets. The desire for these things is an appetite. You cannot hunger for tea, coffee, spiced foods, or for the various taste-tempting devices of the skilled cook. If you desire these things, it is with appetite, not with hunger.
Hunger is nature‘s call for material to be used in building new cells, and nature never calls for anything which may not be legitimately used for this purpose.
Appetite is often largely a matter of habit. If one eats or drinks at a certain hour, and especially if one takes sweetened or spiced and stimulating foods, the desire comes regularly at the same hour, but this habitual desire for food should never be mistaken for hunger.
Hunger does not appear at specified times. It only comes when work or exercise has used sufficient energy to make the taking in of new raw material a necessity.”
It is an interesting proposition that there is a difference between hunger and appetite. We certainly have appetite for many delicious foods, but if the hunger is not there, eating with an appetite will do more harm to the body as the digestive system will not be able to assimilate the foods.
